Khorasan local games | Khorasan has many exciting and amusing local games. These games are rooted in culture and ethnic groups of Iran. In this article, we will familiarize you with two of these local games.
In this game, a pit is dug and allocated for every player of this game. Players use marble in this game. The first player, put his/her marble next to his pit. Then, every player rolls his/her marble toward pits. At this time, there are three cases that players agree on. 1. If marble of a player hits pit and returns, then player should roll the marble again. 2. If marble of a player hits another players’ marbles or goes into pit, game is not restarted. 3. If marble hits edge of pit and deflects to right or left side, player has to roll his/her marble again. Each time that a marble hits another marble, one score is given to player.
Sang Sang Chalipa
This game is played as following. First children sit in a circle. A teacher moves behind children. Then, he/she put a tiny stone in hands of one of children in a way that other children do not notice. After that, he/she reads two special phrases loud. Child who has tiny stone in his/her hand must goes to a certain point outside the circle without being noticed. Meanwhile, if a child catches him/her before he/she exits from the circle, she/he can’t exit from the circle.
If the child succeeds in reaching herself/himself to the point, teacher selects names for each of children who are inside the circle. Then, teacher asks the child to guess names of other children. the child whose the name is guessed correctly, gives a piggyback to another child whose guessed his/her name correctly. At this time, if the child does not succeed he/she will return to the circle.
