Qazvin Hazelnut celebration | Qazvin city is filled with hazelnut gardens and the Qazvin people usually hold the hazelnut celebration every year. Mostly, this celebration is held by some villages such as “Rudbar” and “Alamout “and in the middle of August. In this celebration, all people go to their hazelnut farms on the special and determined day and start picking the green hazelnut while reading improvised lyrics and the others repeating it.
One of the interesting events in this celebration is that girls who have just engaged start picking green hazelnut, then make a hole in that by needle and string it and let it dry to make a beautiful necklace for their fiancé. This necklace is called “Galuvaneh” and girls must keep it till winter to donate it to their fiancé.
